A US judge again declared the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program unlawful, blocking President Joe Bidens effort to make the Obama-era policy a federal regulation, court documents revealed.

The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, first crafted with a 2012 memo under the Obama administration, was likewise found unlawful by federal district court Judge Andrew Hanen in a similar ruling in 2021.

A federal judge ruled the Obama-era DACA program is illegal, leaving thousands with uncertainty about their futures.

He said it underscores their role as responsible environmental stewards in the region.

What is DACA? The Obama era program has allowed hundreds of thousands of people who came to the United States as children to avoid deportation.
