A partylist lawmaker on Tuesday, February 23, urged local government units and the police to keep a tight watch on fastfood restaurants and food delivery service personnel who are in violation of the minimum health requirements provided by law during the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
Ako Bicol Partylist Rep. Alfredo Garbin aired the appeal after being shown photographs of food delivery riders waiting for orders infront of the main entrance of a popular fastfood chain located in a Quezon City commercial center.
The riders were without masksm
“Merchants such as Jollibee and Mcdo should implement minimum health requirements within or near the premises of their stores. It is incumbent upon them to make sure that everybody is safe,” said Garbin.
