The North Dakota Geographic Alliance has announced that the 2020 North Dakota Geography Teacher of the Year is Cathy Goehring, a third-grade teacher from Wishek Public School. Goehring has taught at Wishek for 13 years. She graduated from Dickinson State University.
Goehring has been active in geography education in North Dakota, the Alliance said. She has participated in many NDGA summer programs and institutes. Goehring was nominated by her peers for the work she was able to do during 2020’s difficult learning situations. She was able to develop lessons that enhanced geographic education for her students.
