Umude Scores Career-High As Coyotes Top Jackrabbits

Pierre, SD, USA / DRGNews Dec 12, 2020 10:30 PM SIOUX FALLS (AP) Stanley Umude had a career-high 41 points plus 11 rebounds as South Dakota defeated South Dakota State Saturday 91-78 in the final game of the Dakota Showcase at the Sanford Pentagon. A.J. Plitzuweit had 17 points and six assists for South Dakota (1-5), which snapped its season-opening five-game losing streak. Xavier Fuller added 12 points. Alex Arians had 18 points for the Jackrabbits (5-3), whose four-game winning streak came to an end. Baylor Scheierman added 15 points and eight rebounds. Noah Freidel had 13 points. USD will next play Wednesday against Drake in the home opener in Vermillion.  SDSU will not play again until the Summit League opener January 8 against Western Illinois in Brookings.

South Dakota men fall to North Dakota State 74-67

(KELO.com) Mason Archambault’s career-high 17 points wasn’t enough as the South Dakota Coyotes fell 74-67 to North Dakota State Friday inside the Sanford Pentagon. The loss drops the Coyotes to 0-5 on the season. Archambault came off the bench and provided a huge spark for the Yotes as he hit 5-of-7 from downtown in a career outing. A.J. Plitzuweit and Stanley Umude chipped in with 14 apiece for the Coyotes. Tasos Kamateros earned his first career start and finished with 12 points on the night. The Bison (1-5) had four finish in double-figures led by Tyree Eady with 17 points. Rocky Kreuser and Sam Griesel finished with 16 while Maleeck Harden-Hayes rounded out the double-digit scoring with 11 points.
