Nestor Hernandez faces a life sentence without the possibility of parole for capital murder charges.

The capital murder trial for Nestor Hernandez, the man who shot and killed two healthcare workers at Methodist Dallas Medical Center, is nearing an end. The prosecution and defense will give closing arguments on Thursday morning.

Nestor Hernandez, 31, who was charged with capital murder of multiple persons in the October 2022 shooting, was found guilty in the trial.

The man accused of killing two hospital workers at Dallas Methodist Medical Center last year is set to stand trial this week.

Nestor Hernandez is accused of killing Jacqueline Pokuaa, 45, and Annette Flowers, 63. Pokuaa was a social worker at the hospital and Flowers was a nurse.

Healthcare workers Jackie Pokuaa and Katie Flowers were shot and killed in Dallas Methodist Hospital on Oct. 22, 2022. Now, one year later, there are new laws in place to try to prevent a similar tragedy from happening again.
