CHARLESTON – November has been a month of some key firsts for the state’s new Intermediate Court of Appeals.

CHARLESTON — The West Virginia Intermediate Court of Appeals has denied a motion to stay a circuit court ruling that has put the state’s Hope Scholarship Act on hold.

CHARLESTON — West Virginia Intermediate Court of Appeals Chief Judge Dan Greear recused himself from the Hope Scholarship appeal and another judge has been named to hear the case in his place.

As of July 1, West Virginia has a new level of courts between Family Court and Circuit Courts and the state Supreme Court of Appeals. The Intermediate Court of Appeals will take some of the Supreme Court’s load and also hear Family Court cases that weren’t always heard by the Circuit Court.
