On July 3, a devastating fire tore through the Charleston Residence in Lake Louise, destroying the log building and everything in it and displacing around 160 people.

Seasonal workers made homeless by Lake Louise blaze are scrambling to salvage their summer.

A 40-year-old man has been charged in connection with a fire in Lake Louise, Alta., on Monday that caused more than 150 people to be evacuated from the Charleston Residence, a staff building for the Lake Louise Ski Resort.

Man accused of barricading burning room and trying to stab people in fire at Lake Louise staff housing complex.

Video of the fire captured from the highway and posted to social media showed thick, black plumes of smoke rising from the residence.

Police say there are buses transporting people from the fire scene to a muster point at Lake Louise ski hill and resources will be in place for those evacuated there.

“The fire is still in progress and it looks like it will take out our entire Charleston residence,” said Dan Markham, communications director for Skiing Louise.

No one was injured in blaze, but around 150 to 200 employees have been displaced as a result of the fire
