The Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts (MCA) invites young dancers, ages 5-13, to audition for our children’s dance concert, “Movie Mania: Take 2,” on Saturday, September 10, from 10 a.m.

The gala will celebrate local Hispanic business owners and community leaders.

Mary Kathryne “Kacy” Wiedebusch, a renowned faculty member at West Virginia University, was known for her passion for dance.

The Memphis and Dame Edna producer began her theatrical career late in life following the death of her husband.

Inaugural “Celebrating our Constellation: UCR + RCC + AB Miller” event brought together UCR, Riverside City College, and AB Miller High School students.

Avery Lythcott-Haims (B.A. Dance and Cultural Anthropology ’23) is no stranger to dance. Dancing for 18 years, the rising senior has performed in, choreographed or managed nearly 10 productions at Duke — and shows no signs of stopping. 

“We’ve converted people into learning about the ballet and enjoying it. We’ve found our place, and we’re here to stay.”

The spectacular Alwin Nikolais Centennial celebration concludes its U.S. performances in New York City at The Kaye Playhouse with a long look back at Nikolais’s career that features an unusual showcase of the multimedia master’s rarely seen works, many of which have not been staged in New York in over a quarter of a century. Sharing the Legacy 2011 participants are Muhlenberg College, Tulane University, Middle Tennessee State University, DeSales University, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee...

Traditionally, the arts and sciences have been viewed as two distant fields of study. But it isn’t uncommon for Duke’s arts departments to see students with defined career dreams in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) also enrolled in performing and visual arts courses — adding the arts to their educations and transforming STEM to STEAM. 

Choreographer/Dancer Beth Soll, Artistic Director of Beth Soll & Company, will present Earthly Dances in Troubled Times, a concert of four new works and a film at Westbeth Center for the Arts, 55 Bethune Street, NYC. The program will take place on Saturday May 7 and Sunday May 8 at 8pm.
