The Iowa Board of Parole on Tuesday granted work release to a man who fatally shot one man and seriously injured two others in August 2017 on Iowa City’s Ped Mall.

Andre Hicks, 40, of Capitol Heights, Maryland, has been charged in the shooting death of a 34-year-old D.C. man.

Authorities have made an arrest in the shooting death of a D.C. man who was killed last year over the Thanksgiving weekend in the District. 

It is unclear how Hicks and Adams knew each other and there is no word on any possible motive at this time.

On October 31, 2004, the 34-year-old rapper, Mac Dre, died of a gunshot wound when he was riding a van. The incident happened at approximately 3:30 a.m. According to Billboard, when Andre Hicks aka Mac Dre was traveling in a van, another car showed up at the driver’s side and began shooting at Mac’s car.
