Five state colleges in Florida will be able to train at least 1,200 new truck drivers yearly thanks to an $8.2 million grant from the governor.

Florida Governor DeSantis announced the state will spend millions in order to expand CDL training opportunities as part of a workforce development initiative.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Tuesday a portion of his tax relief proposal that would provide $1.1 billion in tax relief for families if passed.

The unemployment rate in Polk County, Florida was 3.5% in August, which is 1.9% lower than the regions year ago rate of 5.4%.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Tuesday announced a $2.7 million grant for the city of Fort Pierce to improve infrastructure.

At a press conference in Fort Pierce this morning, DeSantis announced a $2.7M state grant to the city to redevelop the 8-acre Kings Landing site.

The money will go to redevelop the area of King's Landing. It is expected to bring in 1,300 jobs and about $5 million in fiscal impact, DeSantis said.
