Octillion to supply high-density batteries to FNM for 1,000 electric trucks for beverage maker Ambev
Battery maker Octillion Power Systems will supply advanced lithium-ion batteries to Brazilian manufacturer FNM (Fábrica Nacional de Mobilidades) for the production of 1,000 electric trucks for beverage maker Ambev. Octillion and FNM announced their partnership in October 2020. (Earlier post.)
Ambev will use the electric trucks to deliver beverages throughout South America. A subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev, Ambev announced that it will deploy the 1,000 electric delivery vehicles by the end of 2021.
FNM recently entered into a contract of technical and industrial cooperation with Agrale, the only 100% Brazilian vehicle manufacturer. Agrale has been on the Brazilian and international market for nearly 60 years. As a part of this launch, they are partnering with FNM and Ambev to invest in clean technologies for fleet vehicles.
Icebreaker fitted with hybrid motorized removable bow
Saimaa Icebreaker; Image by Life Size Media The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency has launched the Calypso, a new icebreaker concept boat equipped with a hybrid motorized removable bow.
The icebreaker vessel is currently moored in Mustola harbor in Lappeenranta and has begun operating on Lake Saimaa and the deep waterways of the surrounding area this winter.
The removable bow, the world’s largest motorized of its kind, has been delivered by Turku Repair Yard as part of the Winter Navigation Motorways of the Sea II project. The €7.6 million scheme, co-funded by the EU Connecting Europe Facility programme, aims to develop and enhance the maritime winter navigation system and its safety during the winter.

The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency has launched the Calypso, a new icebreaker concept boat equipped with an innovative hybrid motorized removable bow powered by Danfoss Editron.
