An Altoona couple were charged with child endangerment and drug-related charges Saturday after police discovered the family was living in “deplorable conditions,” court documents stated.
Altoona residents Kenneth and Sherry Meek were arraigned Saturday by Magisterial District Judge Andrew Blattenberger, and both were released on unsecured bails of $50,000 each, according to court documents.

A man who allegedly assaulted his brother Sunday is being charged with felony strangulation after he admitted using a chokehold, court documents stated.

After allegedly discovering money and drugs in a state parolee’s house, police are charging the Altoona man with several drug-related crimes.
Joshua Powell, 36, was arraigned Monday by Magisterial District Judge Daniel DeAntonio, following drug charges against his roommate, Jennifer Markel, according to court documents.
The Mirror previously reported Markel was charged in two separate incidents involving significant amounts of controlled substances, including cocaine.
On Feb. 12, Pennsylvania State Parole agents conducted a check on Powell, and during a search of his home on the 1600 block of Fourth Street, they allegedly discovered a significant amount of suspected methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, ecstasy pills, drug paraphernalia and cash, police reported.
