ELIZABETHTON — The Elizabethton City Council completed its workshop sessions on the fiscal year 2021-2022 budget on Tuesday night and is preparing to approve the budget next month.

ELIZABETHTON — Elizabethton City Manager Daniel Estes started the budget workshop on Thursday for the Elizabethton City Council by saying “I have some very good news.” Estes said that good news was that the city’s sales tax revenue has come in at about $1 million above the amount budgeted for the 2020-21 fiscal year. ELIZABETHTON — Thursday’s Elizabethton City Council meeting saw a bit of history as council members accepted a train display from the local Chamber. The display was given to the Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce many years ago and was displayed on city property next to U.S. Highway 19E where the Chamber offices used to be located.
