NASA reveals the first images of the asteroid material collected during the "picture-perfect" OSIRIS-REx mission led by the University of Arizona.

"Boy, did we really nail it."

The samples hold chemical clues to the formation of our solar system—and the origin of life-supporting stuff on our planet.

The OSIRIS-REx canister still contains the bulk of the asteroid sample inside, but pieces of the ancient space rock found on the outside have already shown evidence of organic matter embedded within tiny bits of debris.

The latest findings from NASA's University of Arizona-led OSIRIS-REx mission support scientists' theory that asteroids rich in carbon and water may have delivered the essential building blocks of life and made Earth habitable.

Scientists have begun to analyze roughly 250 grams of Bennu, which could offer insight into solar system formation and life’s origins on Earth.

A pristine asteroid sample that could serve as a time capsule from the early days of our solar system has finally been revealed.

Scientist at NASAs Johnson Space Centre explain what a sample collected from carbon-rich asteroid Bennu - almost 60 million miles away - might mean for our understanding of the origins of life on Earth.
