Judas and the Black Messiah star Dominique Fishback has found her next role – in one of Hollywood's biggest franchises. Deadline reports that she's set to play the female lead in a new Transformers movie opposite Hamilton star Anthony Ramos.
Since the Transformers franchise launched in 2007, it's grossed more than $4 billion worldwide over the course of five movies. Director Michael Bay left the franchise in 2017 after the release of Transformers: The Last Knight, which led to the studio fully revamping the series. The first offering from this new way of looking at everyone's favorite sentient robots was 2018's Bumblebee, starring Hailee Steinfield.

Everyone guessed two female directors would make it into this year’s top five, but only got one of them right – Chloé Zhao, who was a slam-dunk certainty for Nomadland. The next probability was Regina King (One Night in Miami), but her film has slipped dramatically, missing in both Director and Best Picture, and only getting two nods overall.
The beneficiary was Emerald Fennell, whose divisive rape-revenge drama Promising Young Woman gained some traction. Carey Mulligan, despite being snubbed by the Baftas, is the favourite to win Best Actress here, and while Fennell is almost guaranteed to lose to Zhao, it’s quite logical that she’ll pick up Best Original Screenplay as a consolation prize.
