Business confidence hits historic low: Chamber study

Article content An economic report jointly released Thursday by the Timmins and Ontario Chambers of Commerce reveals a sharp downward shift in confidence among businesses looking ahead towards the future. “Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and lifeblood of Timmins, our region, and our province,” said Melanie Verreault, president of the Timmins Chamber. “Our small business members are the least confident in the province’s economy, as they continue to face unprecedented liquidity constraints, increased costs, and reduced revenues.
