The total project will commence in phases. Little Creek is currently in the process of purchasing four city-owned properties along N. Burch St. which total about an acre. They are to be developed into nature trails and community gardens.
Long term plans include purchasing further wooded properties surrounding those parcels which total five acres. A Daoist Temple and altar space would be built in the center of those five acres. The public meditation trails are planned to extend further into this area.
Little Creek says these trails and structures are intended to be built in the least disruptive way possible to preserve the forest.
From the outside, Little Creek Kung Fu is usually viewed as a martial arts gym, but from the inside, they are studying how to integrate ethereal, philosophical principles into their physical existence, and they are specifically teaching these concepts as well as how to put them into practice Aside from fighting, we are most known for our active adult classes, restoring health and vitality to elderly or disabled through our studies and teachings, said Bechtold. These programs were all thriving pre-pandemic, and we were contributing to the community health of our local population, offering refuge to the commotion of modern living, and uplifting and empowering our students and participants.
