Amazon is throwing in the towel on its "Just Walk Out" checkout method at its grocery stores, a major about-face for the company.

While 'Just Walk Out' senses when someone removes an item from a shelf and charges them automatically, the Dash Cart system requires people to scan items as they shop.

Amazon grocery stores are phasing out the "Just Walk Out" checkout method. The e-commerce giant is replacing the checkout technology with a "smart-cart" system called Dash Cart.
