Power generator manufacturers in Pune are expecting increased demand from the data sector segment, following the growth of telecommunications and technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI). Cummins India has projected potential orders worth Rs 500 crore in a year from data centres. Kirloskar Oil Engines is also in talks for higher capacity genset orders from new data centre clients. The power consumption of data centres is expected to increase by 678 MW to 1,400 MW in three years.
