Nissan made a big splash at SEMA 2021, with Sung Kung’s 240 Z stealing the show followed by a week-long buzz. But Nissan had one more card to play, the 2023 Nissan Z. It is perhaps the most anticipated car from Nissan, but what you probably don’t know is it comes with a wild controversial tale only compared to the Roswell Conspiracy. Nissan is returning to the SEMA show this year, and the Japanese marque has prepared a few things for its booth. As expected, a few modified Nissans will hit the stage. One of them is dubbed DocZ and it is not owned by the Japanese company, but by actor Sung Kang (you may know him as Han).

Nevertheless, we can tell you that the Nissan/Datsun has left its factory engine far behind, being gifted with the infamous 2JZ. And the straight-six has received a generously-sized turbo, along with a generous list of supporting mods, though these are not listed in the video below. As a result of this trip to the aftermarket gym, the classic sports car, a model introduced back in 1969, now delivers 1,200 wheel horsepower, at least according to its driver.
