KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 7): Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) is committed to enhance the efficiency of regulatory delivery in dealing with construction permits (DCP) to affect Malaysia’s competitive advantage and ease of doing business.
MPC director-general Datuk Abdul Latif Abu Seman said in a statement today that the outcome is expected to contribute to more foreign direct investment (FDI) into Malaysia. One of the strengths Malaysia has to attract more FDI into the country is in the aspect of dealing with construction permits where we have shown an impressive improvement in terms of ranking for the indicator, according to the
World Bank’s Doing Business Report which compares 190 economies globally, he said.

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 8: Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) has successfully certified 88 companies and homestays with the Certificate of Compliance COVID-19 Adopt and Adhere Guidelines and relevant government standard operating procedure (SOP) at end-2020.
In a statement today, MPC said the certified companies included categories of travel agencies, adventure tourism operators, event management companies, event venues, homestays, and kampungstays, as well as tourism sites.
MPC through the Tourism Productivity Nexus (TPN) developed the initiative for tourism industry players in restarting and continuing their business operations and tourism activities in the face of the new normal.
MPC director-general Datuk Abdul Latif Abu Seman said the guidelines were developed to support the government’s efforts in ensuring businesses comply with the SOPs in preventing the spread of COVID-19.

CREATIVE thinking by a group from Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Sdn Bhd (Proton) has earned them the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) Chairman Award at the Annual Productivity and Innovation Conference and Exposition (APIC) 2020.
The win for the group, known as “Dynamic” from Proton, was announced at the inaugural virtual APIC 2020 award presentation event.
Proton secretariat Ahmad Furoji Aris, from the carmaker’s Shah Alam branch, expressed his appreciation for the award.
“The Dynamic group presented a project on late claim submission for the benefit of Proton employees, which can cut cost by RM1mil or 27%. This project can reduce cycle time for claim processing from 34 days to only six days, which is an 82% reduction.
