KOTA KINABALU: The state government will make an assessment on whether to maintain the ban on the export of logs from Sabah, which was implemented during Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal’s tenure as chief minister.
Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Abidin Madingkir said that the state government will study whether to retain the ruling introduced by the previous Warisan-Plus government or to allow log exports to resume.
“This will take into account the needs of all parties in the short, medium and long term, ” said Abidin in his winding-up speech on the Chief Minister’s Department during the state assembly sitting on Tuesday (Dec 22).
