MINNEAPOLIS — The Minneapolis police officer who fatally shot an armed 22-year-old Amir Locke during a SWAT raid in early February will not be charged with a crime, Hennepin County

Minneapolis prosecutors announced Wednesday that there will be no justice for Amir Locke.

The law must follow the facts, but need for reform is clear.

The announcement comes after the February shooting of Locke, who was not the subject of the search warrant.

The shooting drew thousands of protesters to the streets and renewed calls for police accountability in the city where George Floyd was murdered.
