At least seven people were killed and one person critically injured in shootings at two separate locations in a small coastal community in central California, United States, becoming the state’s second mass shooting in three days, CNN reported citing law enforcement officials.

A gunman killed seven people before being arrested in California on Monday, just two days after a shooting claimed 11 lives at a popular dance hall.

Seven people have been killed at two locations in related mass shootings in a small Californian coastal city.

A San Mateo County official says the two shootings took place at a mushroom farm and then at a trucking company in Half Moon Bay, just south of San Francisco.

One gunshot occurred at a mushroom farm and another near a trucking plant about two miles from the farm, according to San Mateo Board of Supervisors President Dave Pine.

The suspect was identified as 67-year-old Zhao Chunli and is in police custody.

The shootings occurred on the outskirts of Half Moon Bay, a city about 30 miles (48km) south of San Francisco.
