david: two deadly shootings overnight. one took place at a church in aurora, colorado, leaving one dead and two wounded, the other near virginia tech university. we go to griff jenkins with more on that. reporter: david, good morning. they re calling this an active homicide investigation after one person was killed, four others injured including a virginia tech student. all transported to a local hospital, no word on the extent of the injuries. police say just before midnight shots rang out at a bar on main street called melody hookah lounge just a short distance from campus. students nearby reacted to the gunfire. we were downtown tonight when we first got the first alert that there were shots heard at the 7/ eleven heard.
