I dont think you started off your career as a commentator a news guy, how did you and fox news ever meet . Good question. My First Television appearance ever was on msnbc hardball with Chris Matthews. [laughter] i had never done tv before in my life and i had a buddy who had done tv twice so he was an expert. [laughter] he said lean forward that his first to. It makes you look better stature better posture. [laughter] lean forward and dont let the host cut you off. 46 times Chris Matthews cut me off. I was a newbie. I didnt anticipate i would go into tv. I read a couple of events organizations when i came back from iraq and afghanistan supporting in the battlefield then fighting for reform at the v. A. Through that, and it up doing appearances on tv in different places. A lot of ended up being fox and fox and friends. I will never forg
Conservative commentator as wall street journal sort of what you influencers were getting there. Well, i i joined the College Newspaper back in the early 1990s when i was in school and that sort of where i got the political the political bug. I i discovered writers thinkers intellectuals like thomas sole and Shelby Steele and glenn lowry and they had a huge impact on my my intellectual development and on my thinking about race in particular as well as economics and politics and and some other issues. So so thats where i got my start. I i interned at usa today during college and then about six months after graduation. I joined the wall street journal and and ive been writing for that newspaper ever since so jason, i think many viewers and readers of the wall street journal were kind of impressed with the journal editorial page separating the issues of some people talking about trumps personality from the issues of a trump policies. Known linda since the late 80s when i started covering the Supreme Court and for a long time we were competitors, friendly competitors but competitors. I was working at the Washington Post and she was at the New York Times and we started on our respective book journeys and sometimes would be at the library of congress doing Research Together but a lot of people from the outside knew us as competitors and i will never forget one day when we decided to have lunch together at the library of congress, we were walking out and group of older visitors who looked like the classic washington crowd said there is Linda Greenhouse and Phil Kominski and they are together.
