A san jose man has clear name this morning after spending 13 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. He was freed with some help from the Northern California Innocence Project. Abc7 News Reporter Katie Marzullo explains. Reporter these are photos of glen payne leaving the hall of justice on friday. He is surrounded by the attorneys and volunteers of the Northern California Innocence Project. This is the first case that in the California State Court has been reversed on the basis of microscopic hair comparison. Reporter payne was convicted of kidnapping and molesting a 2yearold neighbor girl in 1991. His conviction in large part due to expert testimony about two strands of hair. He made a Statistical Analysis as to how important that hair was. Then that number was used to argue that its so unlikely that that could happen that he must have been the perpetrator. Rain all day long, and its finally here, its coming down pretty state right now, obviously its not good news for those who want to get out of the city right now, this is the entrance into the bay bridge, its already backed up. Theres a honk right there, so a lot of people not happy with the rain conditions, of course creating some Hazardous Conditions on the roadways, we want to show you some video as the rain actually started coming down in the city this afternoon. It was coming down pretty hard. The rain caught those who were not prepared a bit by surprise. We saw a lot of people who were walking the streets without umbrellas. Thankfully there are places where you can walk in and out and grab your rain gear. Umbrellas are a popular item right now. They have been coming in more than anything for the umbrellas and the ponchos. I got some booties on my shoes, my pants and then a jacket.
