MIDLAND, MI – Robert Francis Dennett, 88, of Midland, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2021, after a short illness at MidMichigan Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born the son of Harold and Louise (Gaviglio) Dennett on March 2, 1932, in Marquette, MI. His mother, Louise, passed away unexpectedly when he was eleven, and his father then married Marie Reichel in 1947, who was a wonderful grandmother to Robert’s children. He graduated from Bishop Baraga High School in 1950. He then attended Northern Michigan University for one year before transferring to Michigan Technological University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering in 1954. After graduation he was accepted into the United States Navy Officer Candidate School and served as a Lieutenant for two years in the Navy and several years in the Naval Reserves.
