Wake County District Attorney Lorrin Freeman has filed paperwork in U.S. District Court opposing N.C. Attorney General Josh Stein's motion for summary judgment in their legal dispute.

A federal judge issued an order Wednesday officially ending the legal fight between North Carolina’s attorney general and Wake County’s district attorney. The two officials, both Democrats, had disputed possible enforcement of a 1931 state criminal libel law.
