In one case of felony criminal vehicular operation, a 26-year-old Frazee man heard and felt a clunk while driving and stopped and saw his girlfriend in the ditch. He was unsure how fast he was going, but said it could not have been more than 15-20 miles per hour. He said he did not hit her intentionally, and that he was hesitant to call 911 because he had been drinking and was scared to get a DWI.

The witness said he saw the man cut in front of the woman’s car with his vehicle, almost running her off the road and forcing her to stop. The witness said the man got out of his vehicle and started pounding on the victim’s car and screaming at her, to the point that he thought the woman was going to be assaulted.
