The leaders of Harrogate's three main business organisations have issued another joint letter about the Harrogate Gateway project, this time asking that next week's vote on the proposals to shake up the town centre's traffic system and road layout is postponed to allow time to digest the contents if the county council's new Economic Impact Study on the project.
It is now almost certain that Harrogate town centre will see its biggest investment for more than 30 years in a major shake-up to its existing traffic system.
While recognising that the new version of HS2 and the Northern Powerhouse Rail plan still represents a substantial investment in modernising the rail network, businesses in our region are keen that progress on better transport links continues.
