Receiving not one, but two honors, Degan was also inducted into the association’s College of Fellows alongside four other new members, bestowed during NEWH’s biennial Leadership Conference on February 17, 2024 in Nashville.

Spread across 3,400 square feet in the base of an 11-story commercial highrise, the Freshman is the newest culinary experience to open in the Washington, DC suburb of Arlington, Virginia. DC-based design firm //3877 conceived the restaurant to easily transition between day and night, functioning as a coffee shop by day and a cocktail bar after sunset.
Upon entering the sunny concept, guests are greeted by a colorful 50-foot mural by local artist MISS CHELOVE, which pays tribute to java lovers with references to global coffee destinations like El Salvador and Guatemala. The coffee station at the front of the horseshoe-shaped bar also heralds visitors. More than 20 stools wrapped in navy blue
