A former student of The First Academy in Orlando is suing the Christian school for allegedly failing to take action against a teacher who allegedly sexually assaulted her.

A new lawsuit accuses a private Christian school in Orlando of hiding information about one of its teachers sexually abusing a student.

The former teacher has been named in a civil suit brought by the victim.

According to the suit, between 2014 and 2016, the student was sexually abused and groomed by a teacher, Harriet Sugg.

A former teacher at an Orlando Christian private school faces several charges of sexual activity with a minor, according to Orange County court records.

The school will hold its annual Veterans Celebration on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 10:30 a.m. in the Worship Center at First Baptist Orlando.

The school celebrated its 98 seniors with a graduation ceremony to remember on Friday night.
