Dawson County 14-year-old arrested after being found with gun before school
A 14-year-old Dawson County Junior High School student has been arrested on gun and drug charges after allegedly being found in possession of a firearm and prescription drugs.
According to Dawson County Sheriff Jeff Johnson, the student was charged with illegally possessing or carrying a firearm, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime on Tuesday morning, after a firearm was located in the teen’s backpack prior to being dropped off at school.
Johnson said that no threats had been made by the student, and it does not appear that the teen had any intended target for violence.
