Metrorail has withdrawn its train service between Malmesbury and Cape Town, in what the Western Cape government has dubbed a 'major setback'.

Taxi operators in Nyanga targeted Golden Arrow buses on Thursday morning after a City of Cape Town clampdown on illegal sedan taxi operators, known as "Amaphela", in the area sparked violent protests.



Unathi Sitsili, 28, appeared in the Bishop Lavis Magistrate’s Court on Monday. He faces one count of murder and three counts of attempted murder related to Intercape bus shootings in March and April.

Police recently arrested Unathi Sitsili (28) in connection with the April murder of Intercape bus driver Bangikhaya Machana.
