Srinagar: With the University of Kashmir due for NAAC re-accreditation next year, the Vice-Chancellor Prof Nilofer Khan on Friday chaired the varsity’s NAAC Steering Committee meeting and directed for addressing all “areas of concern” well in advance to fare better in the qualitative and quantitative metrics of assessment.

KU postpones all offline exams till May 2; main campus to remain closed till Wednesday
SRINAGAR: The University of Kashmir has postponed all its offline PG and UG examinations till May 2, 2021 in view of the prevailing circumstances, even as it decided that the main campus shall continue to remain closed upto and including Wednesday (April 28, 2021).
The decisions to this effect were taken after detailed deliberations over the prevailing circumstances at a high-level meeting of the varsity’s advisory committee, chaired in online mode by Prof Neelofar Khan.
The meeting however decided that online classes, as already notified, shall continue to be held by the teaching departments.
7-day workshop on Research Methodology begins at Kashmir University
Srinagar: A seven-day workshop on ‘Research Methodology in Social Sciences’ started at the University of Kashmir on Tuesday.
Dean Research Prof Shakeel A Romshoo presided over the inaugural session of the workshop, organised jointly by the varsity’s Media Education and Research Centre (MERC) and Department of Social Work (DoSW).
Underscoring the significance of methodology in research, Prof Romshoo said it’s very important for research scholars to know which methodology to adopt and where while pursuing their research goals.
“This would lead to better research outcomes and also help raise the standards and benchmarks of their research,” he said, asserting that research in social sciences was important to address a wide range of “problems” that societies are faced up with.
