After the calendar study team’s presentation, all members of the board voted to approve the calendar option two.

The Los Lunas Board of Education appointed Elder following the acceptance of superintendent Arsenio Romero’s retirement.

Six different calendar options were created by February, with two of those options taken to parents for a vote in a survey.

The Los Lunas Schools Board of Education unanimously approved a 187-day school calendar, with 191 days for teachers, for the 2022-23 school year after going to the community for input on two different 190-day calendars.

When the three were told they were among the Unsung Heroes being honored this year, the response was an across the board, adamant declaration — anything they might have accomplished wasn’t done alone.
