These titles, with themes such as isolation and addiction, introduce readers to a new Covid generation of authors.

Since 2020 there has been exponential rise in ‘virus fiction’ by a new COVID generation of authors who came out of isolation having experienced a pandemic in real time.

In February 2021, four partner organizations, La Jolla Historical Society  San Diego Public Library, San Diego Writers, Ink and Write Out Loud  presented the San Diego Decameron Project. Members of our San Diego community were invited to submit previously-unpublished fiction or nonfiction narratives of 1,000 words or less based loosely around the theme of the current pandemic.

The multi-part "Decameron Project" will be available to stream through the end of the year.

The signs of spring are certainly upon us and we still await some symbolism of normalcy in our lives as more of our friends, family, and neighbors are vaccinated against COVID-19.
