he European Union helps WFP provide humanitarian assistance for conflict-affected people in Armenia

Yerevan, ARMENIA – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) welcomes a EUR 1.3 million contribution from the European Union (EU) to provide cash assistance across Armenia for people affected by the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
This assistance will complement existing national efforts undertaken by the Government of Armenia and its partners to support people affected by the conflict and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Janez Lenarčič, European Commissioner for Crisis Management, said: “The EU’s emergency aid is delivered in line with the humanitarian principles and helps civilians affected by the hostilities and their host population. Companies in Armenia will soon have increased capacity to identify trade opportunities with the European Union and within the Eastern Partnership region as part of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) Trade Helpdesk project. On 26 April the International Trade Centre (ITC), in partnership with the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, organised the first stakeholder meeting on the EaP Trade Helpdesk project.

On 26 February 2021 an online discussion of the Post-adoption review of the Judicial Code of Armenia took place within the framework of the Partnership for Good Governance (PGG II) Project Support to the judicial reform – enhancing the independence and professionalism of the judiciary in Armenia (further – the Project), funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
