These activities may be seen for the next few days, probably on a daily basis but they may not be very intense. As these rains will be patchy in nature, the temperature will continue to remain above normal. Rains will increase when the system moves inland and shifts the Monsoon trough closer to Delhi, which is likely around September 14.
Very light, patchy and isolated showers are expected from 08th and 10thSep. As the monsoon low travels from Gujarat to Rajasthan between 11th and 14thSeptember, the trough keeps coming closer and the easterly stream becomes stronger.
These showers will not be very prolonged and may be intermittent but are expected to continue until the next few days. This will result in some relief from the discomfort residents are witnessing.
Reason being, last few days, no fresh weather system had formed, and the Monsoon trough shifted close to the foothills remaining there itself as of now. Only spot activities have been seen in parts, and no signs of revival of Monsoon trough is expected in the coming 4-5 days.
There is a chance of passing and short duration light rain and showers between 28th and 31st August. One or two of these showers could be moderate on 29th and 30th August. The month of August is likely to close with a record shortfall, possibly the highest in the last few decades.
