Vanden Bussche Irrigation shared its Christmas spirit this year with the Delhi Sharing Pantry.
A ‘Holiday Food Drive Competition’ started at the Delhi company collected 1,240 pounds of non-perishable food items in just three weeks.

Throughout the month of December, VandenBussche Irrigation has been holding a Holiday Food Drive Contest.
Employees at their Delhi location were split into four teams (Team Snow Man, Team Snow Flake, Team Candy Cane and Team Mistletoe), each collecting and bringing in non-perishable food items.
From December 1st, until December 18th, 1240 pounds of non-perishable food items were collected for the Delhi Sharing Pantry.
While the competition was tight, Team Snow Man came out on top, collecting 432 pounds of food.
Team Snow Flake was right behind them, collecting 409 pounds of food.
In addition to the food collected, President Marc VandenBussche matched their results with $1 for every pound, donating $1240.

The overall need for the Delhi Sharing Pantry has not really changed this year, but some of the faces coming into their Argyle Street location are new.
“The need is different this year,” said Ruth Brown, co-coordinator of the Delhi Sharing Pantry. “The number of what we would call our regular clients has actually declined. It’s families now that are coming, saying ‘dad lost his job at the beginning of COVID, mom’s working part-time, we just can’t do it.’ So lots of different situations.”
