Amid the flood crisis, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has asked the army and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to aid in the relief efforts.
“Water to treatment plant goes from the Wazirabad pond. Now that there is flooding, we have had to shut all three. The plants functioned till 8 am but after that, it was impossible to keep them open,” said DJB vice-chairperson Somnath Bharti.
The jal board has asked the residents to store sufficient water for any emergency need. The authorities are also arranging water tanker facilities for the affected areas. aaa
Delhi water supply will remain affected in some areas on January 12 and 13 due to maintenance work related to interconnection of new pipelines at the Haiderpur Water Treatment Plant. aaa
