Officials say a man charged with two counts of murder was speeding and drunk before a fatal crash in May.
Ezra Phillips was arraigned Wednesday on two counts of second-degree murder, driving on a suspended, revoked or denied license causing death and operating under the influence while impaired by liquor causing death.
Phillips is accused of hitting a sedan and killing 83-year-old Joel Shaffer and 84-year-old Delores Shaffer near Schoolcraft on May 7.
In court, the judge say Phillips blood alcohol content was .167 according to investigators.
