Last night he was arrested in largo, maryland at his lawyers office. There was no resistance. He was not wearing a gun at the time. He appeared in court about 20 minutes ago. His lawyer did not dispute any of the evidence that prosecutors put before the judge and so the judge ordered him held without bond until a hearing later this week. He will be segregated from the general population of d. C. Jail because he is a Police Officer and therefore could be in some type of danger inside of a jail. Adult, was in lane three of traffic right around 1 30 this morning when he was struck. There were three lanes of traffic closed during the investigation early this morning. Now, the driver of the tractor trailer did remain on the scene. There was a car were told by police in the area but it was not registered to the man who was killed in this. So theyre not sure whether he was associated with that vehicle, whether there was a breakdown situation or Something Like that and thats why he was along the road there in the lane of traffic there. Reporter the system in question is what every Police Officer uses to input information after an investigation. Washington city paper was first to report these problems. Today police claim theyve been reporting problems ever since it went back into use in 2011. Weve replaced our Records Management system at least three times in the last few years. Reporter the head of the Police Union Says cops have already been warning of problems. The core computer was not communicating. The reliability problem went down all the time. Reporter in a letter sent to Defense Attorneys, they called it an imperfect system which the Police Department is planning to replace. But the damage may already be done. The letter says thousands of criminal cases are being reviewed to determine if prosecutors failed to provide Defense Attorneys with evidence they are required to share.
