Deming Art Council sets aside May for Luna County Art Show
Show returns for a live exhibit
DEMING – Luna County art talent will be showcased throughout the month of May, courtesy of the Deming Art Council. Artists in the county will bring their talents to the Deming Art Center, 100 S. Gold Street, for a month-long exhibit for the public to enjoy.
Typically, the show gains the most participation of all the yearly shows. The COVID-19 pandemic moved last year s show to a virtual exhibit but the show was considered a success by council members and the viewing public.
Anticipation for a live return of the Luna County Art Show has been high and the local artists did not disappoint.
DEMING – A cultural celebration with a slice of Americana is in store for the month of March at the Deming Art Center, 100 S. Gold Street. The Deming Art Council is proud to host the Quilting B’s for an exhibit of themed handmade quilts, March 2-30.
The Quilting B’s are a small local group but have been active throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. With New Mexico’s Emergency Public Health Order in place, the B’s have placed restrictions on meeting size, they have been using email and other means of communication to conduct meetings and decide which themes they will use for the art show. This year’s projects include: “A Pocket Full of ,” “Hearts and ,” and “A Garden Party.”
