TROY, N.Y. â Kiani Conley-Wilson, 25, a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor of Science in Sustainability Studies and Troy community organizer, recently announced on social media her intention to run for the Troy City Council District 5 seat.

Conley-Wilson works for Soul Fire Farm, a community farm dedicated to dismantling racism in the food system while providing services for those in need and training the next generation of food justice leaders. She also serves as the co-chair of the Troy Democratic Socialists of America. In her spare time, she runs Common Greens, a community garden in Troyâs North Central neighborhood. A Troy resident for more than six years, she lives in the Little Italy neighborhood with her cat, Midnight.
