The area to help in rescue operations. The south Korean Navy Special forces and an underwater Demolition Team helped rescue passengers that jumped into the ocean as the ship went down. While most people on the ferry are safe, the news wasnt all good. Two people have died one, a 27yearold woman named park jiyeong, and the other a 22 yearold female crew member. 14 more were injured. One of them seriously. But the big story were the rescue operations. At this point, 178 of the passengers on the ferry are safe on land, and almost 370 have been rescued. One student told the local media that he jumped into the ocean wearing a life jacket with other students and swam to a nearby rescue boat. There are still more than people still unaccounted for, but south korean Officials Say 100 Emergency Rescue operations are still working in the area to save as many as they can.
