“The last time the urban plan was reviewed was over 15 years ago,” Plante said.
“It is time to review this urban plan, which will require a lot of attention and we really wanted to have a full-time person on the file,” she said. Adding a full-time executive committee member “will allow us to clearly identify all the urban planning issues for the city of Montreal for the coming years,” she added.
Plante also announced that Jocelyn Pauzé, an associate member of the committee and the city councillor for the Marie-Victorin district, would take over responsibility for sports and leisure. He fills the gap left by Hadrian Parizeau, the independent councillor who stepped down last week to rejoin former mayor Denis Coderre’s campaign for re-election. Parizeau, the grandson of former Parti Québécois premier Jacques Parizeau, was elected under Coderre’s banner in 2017.
