Campaign for A1 flyover at dangerous Wittering junction gains momentum Published: 08:02, 04 February 2021
The campaign to build a flyover on the A1 at the Wittering junction gathered momentum at a meeting chaired by Shailesh Vara MP for North West Cambridgeshire.
Members of Wittering Parish Council, Peterborough City Council met with Highways England to put their case forward for the flyover to improve safety at this junction.
Mr Vara, who has campaigned for a flyover for several years, has raised the issue with Government ministers as well as Highways England, and described the meeting as constructive. The pressure for a flyover continues to increase and I very much hope this renewed co-ordinated approach will meet with success, he said.
