In a bid to ensure uninterrupted new academic session, the FCT Administration through its Department of Quality Assurance (DQA) of the Education Secretariat has stepped up it’s routine monitoring and inspection of all schools operating in the Territory, so as to improve efficiency in teaching and learning process. In particular, the Department revealed that it is expanding it’s monitoring instruments on a daily basis, to adequately cover all areas, so that all noticeable gaps are closed, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 situation. Making this disclosure during inspection of schools, following the recent resumption of academic activities, the Ag. Director of the Department, Mrs Magdalene Uzoanya, noted that the reality of the COVID-19 pandemic has further made monitoring and inspection essential tools to improve and maintain standard in all schools operating in FCT.

The FCT Education Secretariat has directed all schools to resume on Monday, Jan. 18, following the announcement by the Federal Ministry of Education on maintaining the resumption date.
Malam Leramoh Abdulrazaq, Acting Secretary and Director, Administration and Finance, issued the directive at a stakeholder meeting on Friday in Abuja.
Abdulrazaq urged heads of schools to ensure total compliance with COVID-19 protocols, school resumption guidelines and checklist earlier released for FCT schools.
“The FCT Education Secretariat has directed all Schools in FCT to resume accordingly,” he said.
